Bring on 2016

As I have been for the majority of my Christmas holidays so far, I've been bored but I've been really curious and raving about tattoos and designing them recently, for myself or just as a doodle. So I've decided I want this tattooed on me at some point in the new year. I want it to be located on my left rib cage, just beneath my left boob. I reckon this is the biggest tattoo I'll get, I like smaller intricate tattoos more. I love simple, minimal designed tattoos, I feel like it reflects me a lot more than big detailed one as I prefer to draw in a minimal style.

Traditional Tattoos

Traditional tattoo designs is something I'm really raving about at the moment. The best thing for me to draw with is fine-liners, I tend to use Staedtler pigment liners that's a set that range from 0.05mm to 0.8mm, my favourite size to use is the 0.5 and 0.8mm for me to capture the look that I want to achieve with the traditional tattoos as the pends are thicker. The illustrations I draw are usually inspired by something I found on Pinterest or simply reflects how I was feeling.
As you can see and guess I was feeling exactly like this when I drew this, aha. A lot of my drawings don't contain very much detail as I prefer to draw simply, that's quick and easy.

Typography Illustration

So I was missing someone very much today and all I was thinking was this quote, that I felt sad when they're around me. Going home from university is always so boring for me as there's nothing particularly fun or exciting to do and I'm usually not as busy as I am when I have lectures or studio sessions.
Back to the illustration, my mind has just been thinking about someone I miss very much who lives all the way over in New York, so this is for you.

BEST FRIEND TATTOOS

I stumbled across an article yesterday on Pinterest about best friend tattoos. I love the concept of tattoos and everything about it, that some have a meaning, some is for art or some are drunken accidents. But this article reminded me of how me and my best friend, Bee are thinking of getting a tattoo together.
Some of the designs are so cute and very well thought through, for example the first image below. Two hands making pinky promises, this design was inspired by the design of traditional tattoos, bold colours and dotted shading, I loved the original design so much that I had to draw one that was inspired by it.

But the design below of the sun and the moon is a representation of me and Bee, Bee is very spiritual and since meeting her at university last year I've seemed to tapped into that side more. I get drawn in by the moon and the sun in a weird way that I can't really explain. But the design below is also a traditional tattoo inspired design.

VSCO CAM

VSCO Cam. I'm totally in love with it, everything about it. I've been using it since it first came out and it's one of my favourite ways to edit my photos for anything. I love all the filters they contain as the achieve the whole distressed and classic looks I like.
It's also a less tense version of Instagram I find because there isn't the pressure of how many likes you get on a photo, you simply upload it and inspire others or get inspired by everyone else's photos by the way they edit them.
There's a snippet of my VSCO Cam. Discover loads of different filters on there and enjoy!

S O. I T. B E G I N S

So here it is. I'm not much of a writer but I thought it'll be a good idea to just post regularly about little things that amuse me in day to day life. Spending the love of myself through fashion, photography, illustration or general things that I take a fancy to.

Hopefully this blog will attract some people, even one person I'd be happy aha.

Anyway I hope you enjoy my blog and I look forward to you reading it. x
